Data Support Systems to Rollout Fraud Solution to Major US Bank Technology Company Provides Replacement Strategy for Outdated Fraud Solutions

Omaha, NE, January 30th, 2012: Data Support Systems Inc. (DSS) a leading solution provider in Back Office Payment Automation today announced a Top 15 US banking company has licensed TRIPS Fraud™. This new offering from DSS provides the earliest and most targeted identification of check and deposit fraud in the market. In addition, the integration of TRIPS Fraud to all areas of the widely accepted TRIPS Suite allows DSS to dynamically offer superior image-based fraud detection and enhanced transaction analytics.

TRIPS Fraud utilizes Sereno™ fraud detection technology from Orbograph. Sereno uses intelligent merge logic called Multi-Source Correlation Modeling™ to combine image and transaction analysis to attain higher levels of detection accuracy and lower false suspect rates.

Carl Bortol, DSS Chief Executive Officer, said, “We are very excited to extend our product footprint with this important client. Quite simply, TRIPS Fraud is a game changer and by deploying it, our customer will be taking a major step towards lowering their expenses and reducing fraud loss.”

DSS market research indicates that most US banks continue to use fraud systems designed prior to the adoption of Check Image Processing initiatives. By deploying TRIPS Fraud, DSS customers will be able to analyze transaction history but also systemically review check stock, verify signature, check for amount alterations and detect multiple signature requirements to build a more targeted profile for suspect accounts and items.
